The Blarney Stone is part of the wall of Blarney Castle. It was according to legend, a gift from William Wallace to the local lord. It was originally a window lintel, but added to the upper slots (From the looks of it, it was added to a latrine.). Legend has it that those who kiss the stone (you must lean back the niches to do), has the gift of persuasive speech.
