Why is there a me in front of interresais in this french sentence?
Je m'intéressais à la psychologie.
Because s'intéresser is a reflexive verb. When you want to interest someone else in something, you use intéresser. When you are interested in something yourself, you use the reflexive pronoun appropriate to the subject. Since the subject is je, the reflexive pronoun is m', short for me. It is like saying I interested myself in psychology, or psychology interested me.
