Dress Ball
What is appropriate for an Inagural Ball Dress for an 18 yr old?
I can't spend a lot but it is for The Inaugural Ball and states "Black Tie ". It is part of an Inaugural conference my daughter was invited to attend that lasts the whole week, several events and speakers and requires Business Professional Dress for the rest of the events.
She is 5'10", slim and blond. She isn't too comfortable in strapless dresses.
Even though dress codes allow for cocktail length at black tie events now, I would still go with a full length dress. If you go with a full length evening gown, you will not be under or over dressed for the event. You can always check with the event coordinator to get a better feel for what type of dress they expect. You can get very reasonably priced dresses at consignment shops or at many on-line stores.
