Please can you help me think up ideas for my Jazz / Swing band fronted by twins?
Here are some guides as to what we represent:
Twins, Jazz, swing, burlesque, vintage, 1920s-50s, The Andrews sisters
Any ideas, however silly will be welcomed.
Sorry, I meant for band names. But I love the idea of performing "let's call the whole thing off".
We are twin vocalist who front the band backed by 6 musicians.
I always liked names along the lines of "____ & the _______ing _______s", or just "______ & the __________s".
(like Elvis Costello and the Impressions, Huey Lewis & the News etc.)
So:
The (your name here) Twins and the Swinging Dukes
The Eights
The Swing
For a while, Fats Waller's backing band was called Rhythm, so it would be "Fats Waller and his Rhythm" as the billing for the night. You could be "The ___ twins and their Swing" or something to that effect.
The Ditty Bops are a modern band that sound similar to your style, some name like that (A "the somethings") seems best.
