can you study and practice to become artistic or do you just have to be naturally good at it?

With practice and studying can you eventually be a really good artist, i mean i can draw pretty neat as it is, but can you study to have that imagination to come of with creative things and be artistic? i hope im making sense because i dont know exactly how to put it, lol

You can absolutely practice and take lessons to become an excellent artist. You've got to be exposed to different types of art and artists. If you're not feeling imaginative or creative, seeing other artists' work can really open your eyes about seeing/drawing/doing things in a way you never even considered before. A class on "perspective" can take you out of two-dimensional drawing and open whole worlds. The next class can take you a world further. Go with it a while and see if your skills and ideas start to grow together.

I must say, too, that some people, no matter how much they want to draw or paint, just cannot "get it." But you will usually know that early on. Pursue it a while! It can be very fulfilling.
