Do you live (or know someone who lives) in the Hyde Park area of Chicago?
I currently live in Hyde Park but I'm looking for a bigger apartment and I've found that looking for an apartment here is very difficult right now. When I moved here last year it wasn't that difficult.
This year, I see lots of ads for places, but when I call places, most of them don't answer the phone. If I leave a message, they never return my call or it takes forever for them to return the call. I've made appointments to view a few places and they don't show up for the appointment. What's the deal?
Anyone know if something strange is going on in the rental area around here lately? For anyone who lives here, did you have a lot of trouble getting an apartment?
Try these areas nearby: South Shore, Jackson Park, or Jackson Park Highlands areas. Their apartments are just as nice and a lot cheaper. It took me about 6 weeks to find my apartment in South Shore, but despite that, I'm happy.
